The Chamber Series is an exciting seven-event series of outstanding soloists, quartets and small ensembles. A Far Cry is young, brash and bent on making music according to their own rules. The Romeros are known as "The Royal Family of Guitar", and they team up with an outstanding 13-piece ensemble from southern Spain for a monumental concert tour that will include wonderful holiday themed music. The Takács Quartet has been associated with the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition for several years. This makes for a logical pairing with Joyce Yang - Silver Medalist at the 12th annual competition, and winner of the DeGroote Memorial Award for Best Performance of Chamber Music with the Takács Quartet! Barry Douglas - well, he helped us select our Hamburg Steinway concert grand piano. It's only fitting that he be included in the season. Tafelmusik brings a new context to the performance of baroque and classical music by including visuals that help transport the audience to the places where the music was originally heard. Shesh Besh, the Arab-Jewish Ensemble, is a natural fit for Soka University of America having received the European Medal of Honor-Prize for Tolerance in 2006. Jeremy Denk rounds out the season with a solo concert filled with passion, joy and virtosity.
Purchase the entire 7-event series for only $226.50 - a generous 15% savings over the single ticket price. Students and Seniors (62 or over) enjoy an added discount and my purchase the entire series for only $167.00. Don't miss out. Purchase your series tickets today!
